Planning Commission of Pakistan to organize seminar on CPEC project
Islamabad, Pakistan: The Ministry of Planning Development and Reforms of Pakistan is holding a seminar on September 9, 2015 in collaboration with Institute of Peace and Diplomatic studies to highlight the significance of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The event title “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, Opportunities, Challenges and Strategic significance” would be held at P-Block Auditorium. Federal Minister for Planning Development and Reforms, Professor Ahsan Iqbal will inaugurate the interactive session and highlight the importance of this mega developmental project in economic uplift of the country as well for region.
Experts, economists and senior officials of the ministry would present the latest developments about the projects which would play a key role in economic building of the country.
The members from civil society would also attend the event in order to update their self about this mega developmental project which would bring economic development, stability and prosperity in the region particularly in Pakistan.
The $46 billion CPEC project was signed by China and Pakistan when the Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a two-day official visit to Pakistan on April 20-21. Under the project, Pakistan’s southern port city of Gwadar will be connected with China’s northwestern autonomous region of Xinjiang, via a network of highways, railways and pipelines to transport oil and gas.
