KOHAT, Pakistan: Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rasheed here Tuesday formally inaugurated Pakistan Television (PTV) Re-Broadcast Station Kohat that was completed at cost of Rs40 million.

The minister unveiled the plaque on the premises of PTV Re-Broadcast Station in Kohat. Senator Abbas Khan Afridi, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Abdus Salam Khattak and Managing Director PTV Muhammad Mallick and other senior high ups of PTV were present on the occasion.

Talking to media persons, Pervaiz Rasheed said PTV is a national channel that covered over 80 percent areas of Pakistan by providing information, education, sports and entertainment facilities to people at their doorsteps.

He said over 700,000 people would be benefited from the newly established rebroadcast station in Kohat and adjoining areas.

The minister said focus was being made to further improve programs of PTV by bringing it par with international standard. He congratulated the PTV administration for completion the rebroadcast station within stipulated time.

The mnister visited different sections of the rebroadcast station.

Managing Director PTV Muhammad Mallick briefed the minister about the newly established station.

The minister was informed that work on the project was completed in November 15, 2015 with covered area of 250 square kilometers, 500 watt transmission power and 150 feet high tower facilities. More than 700,000 population of Kohat and adjoining areas would be benefited from the newly established rebroadcast station.

Pervaiz Rasheed was informed that presently 18 rebroadcast stations were functioning in the province and two others in Buner and Poran was under construction and would be completed soon.
