ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A day before the new five-member bench of the Supreme Court will re-initiate proceedings of Panamagate Case, the accused members of Sharif family have changed their lawyers.

Sources said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has replaced his Counsel Former Attorney General Salman Aslam Butt with Makhdoom Ali Khan while Salman Akram Raja will replace Akram Sheikh as Counsel of Hussain Nawaz.

Likewise, Shahid Hamid will be the Counsel of prime minister’s two other Children Maryam Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz in the Case.

It’s the second time since the Panama Papers Case’s hearing commenced in the Supreme Court on November 1 last year, that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Children have changed their lawyers. Earlier on November 14, they replaced Salman Aslam Butt with senior lawyer Akram Sheikh as their Counsel in the Case.

However, later one of the petitioners Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) also nominated Naeem Bukhari as lead Counsel of its legal team in the Panama Case after Hamid Khan excused himself from representing PTI in the Supreme Court following the media backlash over his method of presenting the Case.

Justice Asif Saeed Khosa headed new five-member bench of the Supreme Court would resume hearing of Panamagate Case on Wednesday after new Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar took charge.

The new Chief Justice distanced himself from the bench and rather named Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan as part of the bench with Justice Asif Saeed Khosa as the head.
