Monitoring Desk: Pakistan has become member of WorldSkills International during Abu Dubai meeting.

Pakistan will attend next international championship to be held in Kazan Russia in 2019.

According to details, the Chief of WorldSkills Russia Robert Urazov in Abu Dhabi (UAE) announced that application of Pakistan for membership has been approved. He made announcement during the opening ceremony of international competitions participated by 78 countries. It may be mentioned that WorldSkills Russia works for increasing the prestige of working professions and developing vocational education by harmonizing best practices and professional standards throughout the world by holding of professional skills competitions.

“We accepted Pakistan as new member of WorldSkills International and Pakistan will be able to perform at the championship in Kazan. Other countries are also welcome to apply for membership as we make all our championships open but teams must fulfill minimum criterion for participation and approval from the board.  We will send invitations to all member countries to attend Kazan Championship in Kazan. Pakistan needs to prepare a team with best skills in their respective fields before Kazan event. It depends on their (Pakistan) decision, if they manage to form their own team by that time, I think that yes, they will take part”,  commented Robert Urazov.

His Royal Highnes conveyed his heartfelt acknowledgement to Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu for the participation of Pakistan Air Force contingent comprising JF-17 Block-III fighter jets alongside air and ground crew in the Bahrain International Airshow. Chief of the Air Staff expressed his gratitude for the honour of receiving the Bahrain Medal - First Class. On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
