ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The All Pakistan Liquefied Petroleum Gas Distributors Association and National Iranian Company have signed an agreement that entails import of 75,000 tonnes liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) within a year.

At least 6,000 tonnes liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) would be imported from Iran every month for a year, private news channel reported.

The Association’s President Irfan Khokhar stated that price of imported LPG would be in line with price in the local market.

Khokhar also said that imported LPG would definitely help curb energy crisis in the country.

Pakistan also signed a historic gas deal with Qatar this year. Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had visited Qatar and met counterparts there.
