In a statement, the Foreign Office Spokesman Qazi Khalilullah offered condolences and deep sympathies to the bereaved families on the loss of precious lives.

“The Government of Pakistan offers its condolences and deep sympathies to the bereaved families on the loss of precious lives,” the statement said.

The statement said that the unprovoked ceasefire violations were started by India at New Kane and two other posts at 0530 hours today.

It said that Pakistani posts responded to this provocation, and the Indian troops then opened fire from all their posts in the area targeting civilians and villages.

“The Government of Pakistan conveyed its deep concern at the continuous unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian side at the LoC and the Working Boundary and targeting of the civilians,” the spokesman said.

The spokesman while condemning the ceasefire violations said that the government of Pakistan impressed upon India to stop forthwith the ceasefire violations and to observe the 2003 ceasefire understanding to create peace and tranquility at the LoC and Working Boundary.
