The renowned Pakistani human rights and youth activist Qaiser Nawab has said that the bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan in the areas of trade, economy, military, education, and cultural aspects is on a continuous rise.
In an exclusive interview with Eurasia Diary, Qaiser Nawab said that Pakistan and Azerbaijan have been sharing cordial relations for the many decades.
Importantly, he said that Pakistan along with Turkey has extended unequivocal moral, political, and diplomatic support to Azerbaijan on the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict.
Qaiser Nawab said that both the countries are at the heart of many regional projects like China’s One Belt One Road Initiative (BRI) and International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) which lend these two countries importance.
The human rights activists said that the educational, academic, youth, cultural and science technology, and innovation exchange programs and economic projects can bring Pakistan and Azerbaijan closer than ever.
Furthermore, the exchange of artists and the translation of various entertainment items like films, singing, and dramas, etc. of both Countries can bring the people more closely to each other, he added.
Replying to a question about the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Qaiser Nawab said that the resolution of the issue would ensure increasing the geopolitical importance of the region in the Eurasian Continent as two neighboring states of Azerbaijan and Armenia would be at peace.
Qaiser Nawab said that the resolution would lead to an increase in trade and tourism between the two countries and would benefit the region as a whole.
Moreover, it would also facilitate realizing the fruits of BRI and INSTC.
However, he feared that the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict has the potential to escalate to a bigger and lethal war that may engulf the whole region. He said that a small incident might bring in the major powers that may become an international conflict.
