ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan army would continue to respond effectively to Indian ceasefire violations as it always had, the Director General Punjab Rangers Major General Azhar Naveed Hayat Khan said on Friday.
In a statement, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the Director General Punjab Rangers Major General made this statement when he visited Harpal and Charwa Sectors along the Working Boundary in Sialkot today where Indian committed unprovoked ceasefire last night.
During his visit, the Director General Punjab Rangers met troops and appreciated effective response. He also visited victim families from recent Indian cease fire violations, the ISPR said.
Earlier last night, Indian forces fired mortar shells into civilian areas in Harpal, Sajeetgarh and Charwah sectors along the Working Boundary, killing six innocent civilians and injuring further 20 others.
The deceased persons also included six women named Nafees Bibi, Khursheed Bibi, Mariam Mahmood, and Mariam Ishaq while two men included Imran Ghani and Ashraf Masnoor.
