Pakistan and Uzbekistan connected through historic, linguistic and cultural ties

Islamabad, Pakistan: “Pakistan and Uzbekistan are connected through historic, linguistic and cultural ties and Uzbek national heroes including founder of Mughal dynasty Zaheerurdin Babur and Alisher Navoi bridged subcontinent with Central Asia”.

These were observations of speakers at a conference hosted by the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan His Excellency Furkat Sidikov here at Uzbek Embassy to celebrate anniversaries of Great poets of Uzbekistan Alisher Navoi, Zakhiriddin Muhammad Babur and the statesman Amir Temur.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Pakistan Furkat Sidikov was of the opinion that Pakistan and Uzbekistan are strongly connected with each other and there was need to revitalize literary and cultural connections between the two brotherly countries. He anticipated that Pak-Uzbek Forum would play its role to enhance people to people contact with the two countries.

Dr. Prof Aftab Kazi in his speech stated that Zaheerurdin Babur and Alisher Navoi were two legend personalities of Uzbekistan those influenced Pakistani society strongly. He appreciated Uzbek Embassy to celebrate  anniversaries of Great poets of Uzbekistan Alisher Navoi, Zakhiriddin Muhammad Babur and the statesman Amir Temur.

President of Pak-Uzbek Forum Agha Iqrar Haroon in his lecture said that Alisher Navoi was father of techniques of one of the most popular forms of poetry “Ghazal” and his style of writing influenced almost every classic poet, play writer and story teller of Urdu language.

He added that classic Urdu writer Syed Sajjad Haider Yaldram wrote travelogues by following technique of Alisher while play writers in Urdu and even in Hindi languages were very much under the influence of Navai style.

He maintained that Navai was introduced to subcontinent by Mughal Emperor Babur and he was influenced heavily by Navai and even included his respect for the writer in this famous book—Baburnama.
