Islamabad, Pakistan: “Pakistan and Kazakhstan are working together in different sphere for a better future of the region”.

This was stated by his Excellency Bakhitbek Shabarbayev Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Pakistan here on Friday while briefing regional experts about the address of President Nursultan Nazarbayev to his nation held on January 31, 2017.  The tile of his historic address was “THIRD MODERNIZATION OF KAZAKHSTAN: GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS”.

Ambassador Bakhitbek Shabarbayev stated that Pakistan and his country are (were) working for direct connectivity to enhance people to people contact.

“A Joint Ministerial Committee (JMC) is working to enhance ever increasing relations between Pakistan and Kazakhstan and both countries work to help each other at different levels”, said Ambassador Bakhitbek Shabarbayev.

He was of the view that Pakistan can get advantage of technologies Kazakhstan is using in the field of agriculture while his country can take advantage of knowledge of Pakistan in the field of information technology.

He explained important features of the address of President Nursultan Nazarbayev and said that future vision of his president is based on expansion of already robust economy and expansion of facilities being provided to his nation.

Regional experts explained following important features of the address of President Nazarbayev:

  • Technological modernization of Kazakhstan
  • Cultivation of new industries.
  • Boost productivity of basic industries like agriculture, transport and construction.
  • Increasing non-oil exports in half by 2025.
  • Enhancing mining, metallurgical and mineral resource base.
  • Cooperative farming through combining half a million households and small farms into cooperatives.
  • Enhancing irrigation system to increase area of irrigated land by 40%.
  • Export of food products increase by 40% by 2021.
  • Under “NurlyZher” Housing Program housing provision for 1.5 million households in the coming 15 years.
  • Enhance contribution of small and medium-sized businesses in GDP of at least 50% by 2050.
  • Reducing share of State-owned enterprises in economy through privatization.
  • Promote Public-Private Partnership (PPP)
  • Gradual transition to trilingual education. From 2019, teaching in some subjects for the tenth- and eleventh-graders will be conducted in English.
  • Free Vocational Education for All
  • Macro level changes in health care and educational system.
