ISTANBUL, Turkey: A 45-member delegation of the National Culinary Team of Pakistan participated in the 14th International Istanbul Gastronomy Festival held in Istanbul from 11-14 February 2016.

The Pakistani team’s performance was outstanding.  Pakistani chefs won 15 Gold Medals, 13 Silver Medals, 1 Bronze Medal, 4 Trophies & 30 Certificates in different categories at the event. A total of 2000 chefs from 25 countries competed for awards in 75 different categories.

Talent of the Pakistani team was highly appreciated by the international chefs and the jury. The Consul General of Pakistan in Istanbul Dr Yousaf Junaid along with Mr Ahmad Shafiq, CEO of College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM), visited the venue at TUYAP arena and met with the National Culinary Team of Pakistan. Dr. Junaid said the excellent performance and outstanding achievements of the Pakistan team were a matter of pride for the people Pakistan.

Through the joint collaboration of COTHM Pakistan and Chefs’ Association of Pakistan (CAP), National Culinary Team of Pakistan was formed and supported to participate in the competition.
