ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that all terrorist networks have been dismantled and there is no terror group operating from the Pakistani soil anymore.
In a press conference in Islamabad on Monday, the minister gave details of the operations against terrorists under the 20-point nation action plan adopted in the aftermath of Peshawar army public school massacre, and said that 68,000 arrests were made in 62,000 different actions during last nine months.
The interior minister said that over 1,100 terrorists have been killed in anti- militancy operation so far.
The minister said that in the nine months since the implementation of the national plan of action, the government has verified 140 million subscriber identity modules (SIMs).
Likewise, the government has carried out 211 executions and will move on with the capital punishment.
Nisar said that Karachi also witnessed 70 percent improvement in law and order situation after the launch of Rangers and police operation.
The minister for interior further said that the national action plan against terrorism is Pakistan’s security policy and it should not be used for political purposes as no country allows politics on security issues.
Chaudhry Nisar said that there should be no analysis on civil-military ties. He said that existing relations between the government and the military have been exemplary for the last two years.
