ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A new wet spell with snowfall over hilly areas at isolated parts of the country would bring a cold wave in the country bringing the mercury down for next few days and may persist over upper and central parts of the country till Wednesday.

A westerly wave is expected to enter in Pakistan from Sunday that will produce rain with snowfall over the hills from Sunday to Wednesday, an official of Met office informed.

Rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places in North East Balochisan and Sindh on Sunday and Monday while in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA from Sunday to Tuesday.

Rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places in Punjab, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir from Monday to Wednesday.

Cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in most parts of Balochistan, Sindh including Karachi during the coming week.

Snowfall is also expected in Murree and Galliyat on Monday and Tuesday.

On Sunday rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places in northeastern Balochistan, Mirpur Khas, Sukkur, Malakand divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, an official of Met office told the state-run news agency.

In last 24 hours weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country.

Minimum temperature recorded on Saturday were Skardu, Gilgit, Kalat -04°C, Gupis -03°C, Quetta, Dalbandin, Astore, Hunza, Parachinar, Quetta, Dir -02°C, Kalam -01°C, Murree 01°C , Chitral 02°C,  Islamabad 03°C, Muzaffarabad 04°C,  Faisaabad, Peshawar 06°C, Multan, Lahore 07°C, Karachi, Hyderbad 12°C.

Five terrorists sent to hell in Balochistan Islamabad, Pakistan: On 18 October 24, security forces conducted a successful intelligence based operation in District Pishin on reported presence of Khwarij (TTP). During the operation, five khwarij were apprehended and a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives including 3 x Suicide Vests were seized.
