QUETTA, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday approved the launching of ‘Pur Aman Balochistan plan’, aimed at brining angry Baloch leaders back into the national stream.

The approval was given at the special apex committee meeting presided over by the prime minister in Quetta on Thursday.

The meeting was attended among others by the Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Minister for SAFRON Abdul Qadir Baloch, Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik and the Army Chief General Raheel Sharif.

Earlier in the day, the prime minister performed the ground breaking of three important development projects including Mangi Dam, Balochistan Agriculture University and Flyover on Smungli Road in Quetta.

On the occasion, the prime minister was given a detailed briefing on the projects.

The prime minister was informed that the Mangi Dam project will be completed at a cost of Rs9,853 million, Sumungli Road Flyover with nearly Rs1,500 million and Agricultural University at a cost of Rs4,589 million.

Nawaz Sharif also inaugurated Sariab Road Flyover which has been completed at a cost of Rs1,581 million.
