NewsWarm welcome accorded to Nawaz Sharif in Sohawa, Dina

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was accorded a warm welcome when his rally reached Sohawa and Dina on Thursday afternoon by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers and a large number of people from different walks of life.

In order to welcome their beloved leader in Sohawa and Dina, the people were carrying Nawaz Sharif’s photos and party flags, and chanting slogan “Wazir-e-Azam Nawaz Sharif.”

Meanwhile in his brief address to supporters at Sohawa, Nawaz Sharif asked people “Do you accept the court’s decision? Did you not vote for me as your prime minister? I have come out onto the streets with a case against your disqualification,” he told them.

“There are no allegations of corruption against me,” he reiterated. “The honourable judges sent me home. Do you agree with their decision?” he asked.

Later the former prime minister also addressed his supporters when his rally reached Dina, and said that he would continue to work to transform the lot of the country.

Nawaz Sharif referred to the developmental initiatives by PML-N and said these helped address the problem of electricity and gas shortages.

The ousted prime minister said that people voted him to power and they will not allow insult of the mandate of the people. He said that there was no allegation of corruption against him and he has been sent home for serving people of Pakistan.

The former prime minister’s homecoming rally will reach Lahore on Friday.

“We are trying our best to follow the schedule of rally,” the PML-N Leader Talal Chaudhry said while talking to media on Thursday, adding that after sometime the rally was expected to reach Gujranwala.

To a question, he said that around three points had been set up by party workers on way to Gujranwala to welcome their great leader.

“May be Nawaz Sharif address to workers at any point,” he said.

Talal Chaudhry said that Nawaz Sharif was in very happy mood for receiving great love and affection of workers.

After passing through various cities and towns along the Grand Trunk (GT) road the caravan would reach Jhelum, where according to plan, it would stay for night.

Earlier in the day, the former prime minister’s caravan resumed its journey for Lahore from Kutchery Chowk in Rawalpindi via the GT road.

However after a while, Nawaz Sharif Sharif’s vehicle picked up speed and separated from the rally along with a police escort.

His vehicle did not stop at a camp where PML-N workers had gathered, and crossed a number of small stops.

Sources said that the move might have been due to security fears or a small number of workers gathered at the camps.
