MONITORING DESK: Muslims are being targeted of acid attacks in Central London, reports witnesses up to three acid, reports LBC Radio.
Weak law is helping culprits to get bail from acid attack cases and Metropolitan Police confirmed 83 acid attacks in last six months.
Attack on a business student Resham Khan was the latest event of targeting Muslims. Experts dealing with social crimes claim that society is being divided after terror attacks conducted by Muslims in UK and hatred for Muslims is increasing with every passing day.
Radio reports that the Metropolitan Police is investigating the attacks as hate crime.
Throwing acid on Muslims is becoming easy because victims are usually walking or driving alone so no witness is available and culprits get bails.
Imran Khan who is victim of acid attack said in his interview to Radio that government must change punishment law for acid attack and should treat acid attacks as it does with knife attacks. Khan had acid squirted on his face as he was delivering pizza in Dagenham, east London, last November.
“I actually ID-ed the guy and he got arrested. But the police took no further action as there was ‘insufficient evidence’,” Khan told LBC.
Up to 300,000 people have signed a petition to make it unlawful to buy acid without a license.
Hate crimes in London have increased fivefold following the terrorist attack on London Bridge and Borough Market, according to figures released by the London Mayor Office.
