ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal government on Tuesday appointed Muhammad Jehanzaib Khan as the Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Dr Muhammad Suleman Khan as the Director General Intelligence Bureau (IB).

The government also appointed Mehr Khaliq Dad as the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) National Coordinator.

The Establishment Division has issued notifications in this regard.

These decisions were taken in the Federal Cabinet meeting presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan at the PM Office in Islamabad today in which a nine-point amendment agenda came under discussion.

The meeting also decided to remove Saeed Ahmed Khan as the President of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP).

In the Cabinet meeting, the approval was given to form task forces on NAB Law Reforms, Criminal Procedure & Code Reforms, and Civil Service Reforms and Federal Government Restructuring.

Likewise, it was also decided to devise a mechanism on Austerity Measures and Public Expenditures. It was also decided to initiate a project to plant 10 billion trees.

Later briefing the media about the meeting, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said that the Federal Cabinet reviewed China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

Fawad Chaudhry said that a Committee including Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Khusro Bakhtiar has been formed for inception of South Punjab Province. He also said that as per the Cabinet’s decision, FATA merger will be expedited.
