PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Hungarian oil and gas company MOL Pakistan has confirmed that three workers of a local contractor were burnt to death in an accident that took place at Makori East-4 when a fire erupted on October 22, 2015 while filling a tanker.

According to a press statement issued by the company here on Wednesday, the company is sadden to share that on October 22, 2015 a fire incident took place at the production well Makori East-4 (TAL block) prior to the process of filling a tanker causing burn injuries.

All the injured were logistics contractor personnel, and shifted immediately for emergency medical relief and had been given due care, said a press release of the company issued here.

The company are deeply saddened that three of the burnt victims succumbed to their injuries despite the best efforts.

It said that their prayers are with the departed souls, injured and their families.

An investigation had been launched to find out the root cause of the flash, it added.

According to website of company, MOL PAKISTAN OIL AND GAS COMPANY B.V. a fully owned subsidiary of the MOL Group is operating in Pakistan since 1999. MOL Pakistan has a track record of operations in Pakistan where it has operated as well as non-operated joint ventures with the local E&P companies.

Currently MOL Pakistan is the Operator of the Tal, Margala and Margala North blocks and it has participation in two non-operated blocks namely Karak and Ghauri. Apart from its operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, MOL is actively pursuing acquisition of interest in the provinces of Punjab; Sindh & Baluchistan. It holds exploration area around 9,800 sq.km in various blocks whereas it has 465 sq.km acreage of the D&P lease area.

Till December 2014, MOL Pakistan has managed to drill 13 exploratory wells (1 under drilling), 6 appraisal wells (1 under drilling) and 12 developments wells in the Operated blocks.

MOL Pakistan has seven discoveries to its credit in operated blocks namely Manzalai, Makori, Mamikhel, Maramzai, Tolanj, Makori East and two discoveries in non-operated blocks namely Halini and Ghauri.
