LAHORE, Pakistan: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday rejected a plea filed by four federal ministers against a verdict of a session court in a case related to Lahore’s Model Town massacre.
On August 16, a session court in Lahore ordered to register murder cases against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and the Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan among 21 persons for their involvement in Lahore’s Model Town massacre on June 17.
Later, four federal ministers including Pervaiz Rasheed, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Abid Sher Ali and Khawaja Asif filed a petition in the LHC against the session court’s decision.
However, in its order issued on Tuesday on the petition, the LHC upheld the session court’s verdict of registering first investigation report (FIR) against Sharif brothers and others in Model Town case.
