RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza has been posted as Corps Commander Karachi while Lieutenant General Ghayur Mehmood has been posted as Military Secretary, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ISPR said that presently Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza is Military Secretary at the army’s general headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi whereas Lieutenant General Ghayur is presently Chief of Logistic Staff at GHQ.

Meanwhile, the Commander Joint Operations UK Lieutenant General Sir John Lorimer called on the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.

The ISPR said that during the meeting, regional security issues and matters of professional interest were discussed.

The visiting dignitary acknowledged the sacrifices and achievements of Pakistan army in fight against terrorism and efforts for bringing peace and stability in the region.

Last month, General Qamar Javed Bajwa was appointed as the 16th COAS while General Zubair Mahmood Hayat was appointed as the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) following the respective resignations of General Raheel Sharif and General Rashad Mehmood.
