LAHORE, Pakistan: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the Punjab government to ensure that private schools don’t collect frees from students for upcoming summer vacation.
In response to a petition filed by the advocate Sheeba Qaisar on Thursday, the LHC judge Ali Akbar Qureshi ruled that the provincial government should advertise its earlier issued notification in the media regarding stopping private schools from collecting fees for summer vacation.
The court was informed that despite the fact that the government had issued a notification against the collection of fees from student from summer vacation by private schools, its orders were not being obeyed.
The LHC judge said that the government must ensure the implementation of its orders in this regard. He also directed the government to get its notification published in newspapers so that private schools officials as well as students and their parents get to know about it.
The judge further directed officials of the Punjab education department to take action against schools which don’t obey government orders about non-collection of summer vacation fee, and submit a report on June 2.
