LAHORE, Pakistan: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday declared it compulsory for motorcyclists throughout the Punjab province to wear helmet. (Fine on motorcyclists without helmet in Punjab)

The ruling was given by the LHC Judge Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi while hearing a petition filed by a civilian Kamal Haider, asking the Court to declare helmet wearing compulsory for motorcyclists.

The judge also issued directives to the Inspector General of Punjab Police (IGP) for implementing the Court’s orders immediately.

The LHC also sought the implementation report from City Traffic Officers (CTOs) of Faisalabad, Multan, Rawalpindi, Sargodha and Bahawalpur.

Meanwhile, Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi while issuing orders to impose fines on motorcyclists without helmets adjourned the hearing of the Case till October 31.
