Peshawar, Pakistan: The Speaker of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Assembly after protest of journalists has suspended a security guard Muhammad Pirzada involved in misbehaving with a female senior journalist and the bureau chief of private television channel here in the premises of assembly on Thursday.

On the eve of senate election being held at KPK assembly, a security guard stopped Farzana, bureau chief of Aaj Tv channel, and pushed her in disrespectful manner. The security guard also abused the lady reporter.

The journalists on the spot furiously rushed to the assembly’s secretary office where they demanded the action against involved security guard.

However, Secretary named Aman Ullah obtained delaying tactics and showed unwillingness for taking action.

According to victim, she was on call and had been updating the head office about election polling.

The journalists on this derogatory act of guard staged a protest in front of assembly building and demanded for the suspension of the said guard.

On this occasion the senior journalists told the protesters that it had been the norms of senate elections staff and security guards of KP assembly to disrespect the newsmen.

The Speaker KP Assembly Asad Qaiser who came after thirty minutes listened the demand of journalist.

The Speaker, however, apologized the reporters for disrespectful act on  behalf of guard while journalists demanded the early suspension of guard.

On this occasion Asad Qaiser issued the directives to assembly’s secretary for immediate suspension of guard. The speaker also listened the problems of journalists being faced by the assembly staff since this morning in the guise of security and assured the journalists to resolve their concerns.

On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
