Kashmir’s Accession to Pakistan Day on Tuesday

NewsKashmir’s Accession to Pakistan Day on Tuesday

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: In a bid to show solidarity with the Kashmiri people and rededicate all energies and resources to continue the liberation movement, Kashmir’s Accession to Pakistan Day will be observed on Tuesday (July 19, 2016).

This day is observed by Kashmiris living on either side of the Line of Control (LoC) and the rest of the world every year in renewal of the historical resolution of Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan passed by the people of the state.

The All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference on July 19, 1947 adopted a historic resolution in Srinagar, demanding the then Dogra rulers to materialize the accession of the Jammu Kashmir state to Pakistan honouring the decision and point of view of the majority population of the Muslim majority in the state.

“Otherwise Kashmiris would have no option except waging an armed struggle for the liberation of their motherland from the clutches the Dogras,” the resolution declared.

The resolution reflected the aspirations of the majority of the people of Jammu and Kashmir to protect their religious, economic and political rights.

The Kashmir people want India to withdraw its forces from the occupied territory and allow the people to decide their own destiny in accordance with the resolutions of United Nations but New Delhi had been denying them this right.

Consequently, the freedom struggle launched by Kashmiris is still going on unabated. Kashmir issue has also become a flash point for the international community.

In Connection with Kashmir’s accession day, special meetings including seminars and symposiums would be held in all district and tehsil headquarters of Azad Jammu and Kashmir including in the state’s metropolis of Muzaffarabad and in Mirpur, Kotli, Bhimbher, Bagh, Rawalakot, Sudhanoti and Neelam valley districts.

The day would start with special prayers in the mosques for the liberation of all occupied lands including Indian-held Jammu Kashmir and Palestine.

Black Day on Wednesday

Meanwhile, Black Day against the recent atrocities being committed by the Indian Occupied forces in the Occupied Kashmir will be observed on Wednesday.

“Kashmir’s Accession day will be observed on July 19 while nationwide ‘Black day’ will be observed on July 20 to protest the brutalities of Indian forces in Kashmir,” the federal government announced on Saturday.

Curfew, curbs continue on 10th day in occupied Kashmir

On the other hand, curfew remained in place in all 10 districts across the Occupied Kashmir for the 10th consecutive day on Monday. The mobile and internet services also remained off for 10th straight day.

However, on Sunday, people defied curfew at many places and staged pro-freedom protests and engaged forces in pitched battles.

The people were protesting against the killing of at least 45 people and injuries to 3500 in the forces’ firing on the protesters since the Burhan Wani’s killing.
