Kashmiris to observe ‘black day’ on Monday

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Kashmiri people will observe a ‘black day’ on Monday to condemn the Indian invasion of Kashmir.

It was on October 27 in 1947 when the Indian troops invaded Jammu and Kashmir and occupied it in total violation of the partition plan of the subcontinent and against the aspirations of the Kashmiris.

The black day will be observed by Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and the world on October 27 to convey to the world that India has occupied Jammu and Kashmir against their will.

The day will be marked with a complete shutdown in occupied Kashmir and rallies in world capitals.

The call for the shutdown has been given by the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmed Shah and Muhammad Yasin Malik and supported by other pro-freedom organizations and the High Court Bar Association of the occupied territory.
