KARACHI, Pakistan: Three people have died of severe heatwave in Karachi on Saturday while according to Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD), heatwave will continue for two more days in the Sindh Capital.

The sources said that those who lost their lives due to heatwave were residents of Orangi Qasba Colony and Lyari areas of the city.

Meanwhile, the Sindh government has issued an advisory, asking the people in Karachi not to come out of their houses unnecessarily, cover their heads and drink more water.

The provincial has also declared heat emergency in all the hospitals of Karachi in the wake of persisting heatwave.

Talking to media, the Sindh Minister Jam Mehtab said that the K-Electric has been asked to avoid load shedding during these days.

The PMD Spokesman Abdul Rasheed said that temperatures in Karachi rose to 43 degrees centigrade on Saturday and predicted that heatwave will continue for two more days in the city.

Earlier in June this year, about 2,000 people died in Sindh mostly in Karachi from dehydration and heat stroke.
