ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The famous Naat khawan and former singer Junaid Jamshed has died along with his wife when a passenger plane crashed near Havelian in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Abbottabad district on Wednesday evening.
Junaid Jamshed was among 42 passengers and five crew members who were on board the PK-661, a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft.

The ill-fated plane was coming to Islamabad from Chitral when it crashed near Havelian.
Junaid Jamshed’s brother also confirmed to media famous Naat Khawan’s presence in the plan who had gone to Chitral for Tableegh (Preaching).
Apart from 5 crew members, the PIA plane had been carrying 31 males, 9 females and 2 children. They said that the passengers also had three foreigners including two Australians and one Chinese.
Meanwhile, 41 dead bodies had been evacuated from the Crash Site and transported to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad.
Earlier, the PIA Spokesman Daniyal Gilani said that PIA’s ATR-42 aircraft operating as PK-661 had lost its contact with control tower on its way from Chitral to Islamabad.
