Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos was in India, and the trip was all about publicity and getting the cameras on him. His latest stunt, which has taken the media by storm including taking a ride on the Amazon-branded electric rickshaw.
He uploaded the video on his Twitter and Instagram account showing his ride in the electric rickshaw. He announced the launch of a new fleet of Amazon e-rickshaws. The post ended with the hashtag #ClimatePledge, which obviously means he has taken the action to eradicate pollution.
This was all from Bezos’ end, he did not mention whether the rickshaws are being deployed right away and if yes, how much in quantity.
However, an Amazon insider has revealed that they plan to deploy 10,000 electric vehicles by 2025. He also failed to mention the current quantity status and the official launch date.
Jeff Bezos has decided to inaugurate Amazon in the Indian market with an investment of around $1 billion in small and medium businesses digitization. While the world thinks this is an important move for both the US and India, the latter’s population is undergoing a full protest to end Amazon from establishing itself in the country.
