LAHORE, Pakistan: A project costing Rs 337 million for the installation of mobile phone jammers in 13 prisons of Punjab province has been started.

It was stated by Inspector General Prisons Farooq Nazir while chairing a meeting in Lahore on Monday.

He said that mobile jammers would be installed in district jail Attock, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Sargodha, Shah Pur, Jhang, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Toba Tek Singh, Muzaffargarh, Vehari, Jehlum and Multan in second phase.

He said that mobile jammers had already been installed in nine central jails of the province with a cost of Rs 331 million in first phase while process for the installation of jammers in the remaining nine jails would be started later in third and final phase.
