ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has devised a traffic diversion plan to be followed on October 30-31 in the Federal Capital for Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl’s (JUI-F) public gathering.

The Azadi March led by the JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will enter Islamabad on October 31 (Thursday), which would culminate at Metro Bus Depot, H-9 Islamabad.

 Traffic Plan for Islamabad is as per follows;

Diversion Point:

  • There would be a diversion for the traffic from 26 Number Chungi to Islamabad Chowk.

Alternative Route:

  • The motorists coming from Motorway towards Islamabad will reach Murree Road, Islamabad Expressway and Faisal Avenue from 26 Number Chungi flyover via Mehrabad, Pirwadhai, IJP Road, and Faizabad flyover.

 

Diversion Point:

  • There would be a diversion for the traffic from Haji Camp Chowk to Islamabad Chowk.

Alternative Route:

  • The motorists coming from Peshawar GT Road towards Islamabad will reach Murree Road, Islamabad Expressway and Faisal Avenue from 26 Number Chungi flyover via Mehrabad, Pirwadhai, IJP Road, and Faizabad flyover.

 

Diversion Point:

  • There would be a diversion for the traffic from Kashmir Highway G-11 towards Islamabad Chowk.

Alternative Route:

  • The traffic will be diverted from Haji Camp Chowk towards Mehrabad and IJP Road.
  • The motorists going to Motorway, Peshawar and New Islamabad Airport from G-9, G-10 & G-11 will use G-9, G-10 & G-11 Service Road and enter Kashmir Highway through G-11 Signal.
  • While the motorists intending to reach Expressway, Bhara Kahu, Murree and Rawalpindi will pass through Margalla Road-9th Avenue, IJP Road/Faisal Chowk-Faizabad, and use Expressway, Murree Road or IJP Road.
  • The motorists from Murree and Bhara Kahu will use Murree Road, Rawal Dam Chowk and IJP Road to reach Motorway, Peshawar and New Islamabad Airport.

 

Diversion Point:

  • There would be a diversion for the traffic from Golra Sharif to Islamabad Chowk.

Alternative Route:

  • The motorists from G-11 Golra will use Margalla Road from G-11 Service Road.

 

Diversion Point:

  • Kashmir Highway from Zero Point to G-11 Signal will remain closed for traffic, except for vehicles of Azadi March participants.

Alternative Route:

  • The motorists from Residential Sectors of Islamabad including G-8, G-7, G-6, G-5, F-8, F-7 & F-6 will reach Rawalpindi from Faisal Avenue via Faizabad, Murree Road and IJP Road while the motorists from G-11, G-10, G-9, F-10, F-8 & E-9 will use Margalla Road, 9th Avenue or Faisal Avenue to enter Rawalpindi.

 

Diversion Point:

  • There would be a diversion at Faqir Aipee Road for the traffic coming from Sabzi Mandi, I-10 and NESCOM Chowk towards Police Line Chowk.

Alternative Route:

  • The motorists will use 9th Avenue or IJP Road from I-10 Bairuni Road.

 

Diversion Point:

  • The Service Road from 7-up Chowk towards Education Chowk will remain closed for the traffic.

Alternative Route:

  • The residents of H-8/4, H-8/3 and I-9 will travel via 7-up Chowk-9th Avenue or IJP Road.

Parking Plan for Azadi March Participants

The participants coming from Motorway and Peshawar GT Road will reach the Jalsa venue via 26 Number Chungi, Kashmir Highway and Project Morr. They will park their vehicles on both sides of Kashmir Highway at G-9 Turn.

While the participants coming from Lahore via GT Road & Expressway or Murree/Bhara Kahu will use Faizabad Interchange and then IJP Road to reach 9th Avenue Chowk. They will park their vehicles at Service Road (West) on 9th Avenue.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
