Jetindaera Arjanwara – an ailing Indian prisoner who was imprisoned at Malir Jail in Karachi after being arrested in 2014 – was released on Thursday and repatriated to India.

Meanwhile, the former judge Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid also arrived at Karachi airport to bid adieu to Jetindaera Arjanwara.

The 21-year-old Indian citizen landed in Lahore and from there he was transported with special escort to Wagah border to enter India. Altaf – a lawyer from LAO – also accompanied Jetindaera till Wagah.

Pakistan Rangers handed over him to the Indian Border Security Force (BSF).

Earlier upon his departure from Karachi airport, Jetindaera Arjanwara paid gratitude to Justice (retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid for his assistance in his release.

On Wednesday, the Foreign Office in Islamabad announced to release Jetindaera Arjanwara on humanitarian grounds. He is suffering from a blood disease.
