Dhaka, Bangladesh: Indian based terror groups funded Holey Artisan Bakery attack, claims National Security Intelligence of Bangladesh.

According to information gathered by this scribe, the successful attack of terrorists on Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan area on Friday-Saturday night in Dhaka was a result of sheer failure of Dhaka Police because Directorate-General of National Security Intelligence passed credible information to Dhaka Police in May 2016 that terrorist outfits are receiving financial support from religious groups based in Karalla India for a serious terror attack on foreigners living in Dhaka.

Directorate-General of National Security Intelligence (National Security Intelligence) shared convincing information with Police chief of Dhaka in a letter sent in May 2016 that Ansar-al-Islam and Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen are collaborating for a serious terror attack in Dhaka despite of their (Ansar-al-Islam and Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen) differences.

National Security Intelligence (NSI) also claimed in its letter forwarded to Dhaka Police that NSI had intercepted conversation between Karalla based terror group and Ansar-al-Islam and conversation confirmed that Ansar-al-Islam and Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen had joined hands despite of their differences and had planned to attack foreigners in Dhaka.

Sources claim that Dhaka Police did not take intelligence reports as well as letter sent by prime intelligence agency of Bangladesh seriously and Police were of the view that Ansar follows al-Qaida while Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen represents Islamic State (Daish) and there was no chance for any of their joint action in capital city of Dhaka.

Sources further claim that NSI indicated in its letter that recent wave of religious extremism in Bangladesh is linked with certain Indian terror groups of South India and these groups are financing Ansar-al-Islam to destabilise throbbing cottage industry of Bangladesh by putting Bangladesh into oven of religious extremism and terrorism.

Over 26 atheist writers, bloggers, publishers, social media activists and foreign aid workers have been killed in Bangladesh since 2013 by religious extremists. Daish (Islamic State) and al-Qaida took responsibility of these killings but Bangladeshi government is shy to accept operational links between Bangladeshi terrorists and international jihadi networks.

It may be mentioned that terrorists attacked Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan area and took 36 people mostly foreigners hostage on Friday-Saturday night. Four police officers were killed while 30 people were wounded in rescue operation. Authorities claimed that five terrorists had been killed in the rescue operation.
