Ha Main Kashmir Hou— Haan main Kashmir hun

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: “Ha Main Kashmir Hou— Haan main Kashmir hun” (Yes I am Kashmir —Yes I am Kashmir) Nazm (poetry— rhymed verse and also in modern prose style poems) of Indian poet Imran Pratapgarhi has become an icon for Kashmir cause on Kashmir Solidarity Day as same Nazm was shared by Special Assistant to Prime Minster on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan through her twitter. Moreover, this was used by almost all private and state run television channels of Pakistan.

Since 2013, this Nazm is the most popular among Kashmiri youth. Alas no credit was given to the poet in the version adopted by Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan.

Imran Pratapgarhi is an Indian Urdu language poet and politician. He contested in the 2019 Indian general election as a Indian National Congress candidate from Moradabad Loksabha Constituency where he lost to S. T. Hasan.

Video of the poetry is supported by graphics, representing the genocide situation of Kashmiris in the Indian held Kashmir. Title of the video is “Story of Kashmir”.

However, Imran Pratapgarhi’s Nazm hasn’t fully been incorporated in Pakistani version released by the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on August 30 due to certain geopolitical reasons. Only a part of original Nazm has been used.

Here is Original Nazm

Haan main kashmir hun a Nazm by Imran Pratapgarhi

Naa buzurgon ki qwaabon ki tabeer hun

Naa main jannat si ab koi tasweer hun

Jisko milkar sadiyon se loota gaya

Main Woh ujadi hui ek jageer hun

Haan main Kashmir hun

Haan main Kashmir hun

Mere bache bilakte rahe bhook se,

Yeh huwa siyasat ki ek chook se.

Rotiyan maangne par mili gooliyan

Chup karaya gaya unko bandook se.

Naa kahaani hun naa, koi qissa hun main,

(second part deleted)

Jisko gaaya nahi jaa saka aaj tak,

aisi ek tees hun, aisi ek peer hun.

Haan main Kashmir hun

Haan main Kashmir hun.

Haan main Kashmir hun

Haan main Kashmir hun.

Yun mere hausle azmaaye gaye,

Meri saanson pe pehre bithaaye gaye;

Poore Bharat me kuchh bhi kahin bhi huwa,

Mere masoom bachche uthaaye gaye.

Yun ujad mere saare gharonde gaye,

Mere jazbaat booton se raunde gaye;

Jiske har lafz aansu se likha gaye,

Khoon mein doobi huyi aisi tahreer hun.

Haan main Kashmir hoon.

Haan main Kashmir hoon.

Mai bagawat ka paigam ban jaunga,

Mai subah hun magar sham ban jaunga;

Delete

Mujhko ek pal sukoon hai, naa araam hai hai

Mere sar bagawat ka ilzaam hai;

Jo sambhaali naa jayegi har haath se

Aye siyasat mein main ek shamsheer hun.

Haan main Kashmir hun

Haan main Kashmir hun.

Haan main Kashmir hun
