The Cultural Attaché at the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad also attended the concluding ceremony of the four-day training workshop for Arabic teachers.

The event was also broadcast live via Institute of Arabic Language Islamabad’s Official Facebook Page.

While sharing their views about the workshop, participants paid deep gratitude to Dr Ubaid Ur Rehman Bashir and Dr Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Shathri for providing them a profound opportunity to learn modern and innovative techniques to teach Arabic to students.

The participants were of the view that prior to it, they always felt it an uphill task to teach Arabic language to students as traditionally in non-arabic speaking Counties including in Pakistan, an undue emphasize is paid on grammatical rules which eventually distances the people from learning the Arabic language. However, they said that after attending a very useful workshop, even their own concepts about teaching Arabic language have completely been transformed.

In his remarks at the conclusion of workshop, Dr Ubaid Ur Rehman Bashir reiterated the resolve to further expedite their efforts to promote Arabic language across Pakistan.

Dr Ubaid Ur Rehman noted that even non-religious or those people not affiliated with Madaris (religious seminaries) tend to learn Arabic but unfortunately since a quiet difficult and customary method is applied in Arabic teaching, they remain reluctant to avail it.

The principal Institute of Arabic Language stressed that it’s has become need of the hour to apply direct method as an alternative way of teaching Arabic as it would help the people learn Arabic with ease without worrying about its grammatical perspectives.

In the end, the Saudi Cultural Attaché and Dr Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Shathri distributed certificates among participants of the workshop.
