The decision was taken in a meeting of committee that also placed Amir Khan as senior deputy convener of the party.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has been designated as deputy convener.

Sattar, who has been heading the Pakistan chapter of the party, made the announcement at a press conference here on Saturday.

Committee also took decision to induct Kishwar Zehra, Faisal Sabzwari and Abdul Wasim in the Rabita Committee and revoked basic party membership of Ashraf Noor and Akram Rajpoot.

After assuming charge as Convener of the Rabita Committee Dr. Farooq Sattar held a press conference and categorically said that party would not tolerated criminals or corrupt people into the fold of MQM Pakistan.

He said that MQM Pakistan would emerge as a political party not as a terror group and there was no place of criminal people in his party. He indicated that certain elements were using name of MQM Pakistan for harassing people and he said such elements had nothing to do with MQM Pakistan and law enforcing agencies should take actions against them without delay.

This development is considered as a serious attempt of MQM Pakistan to disintegrate from MQM London.
