LAHORE, Pakistan: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted drizzle in some areas of the country including Lahore on Saturday.

According to a spokesman for PMD, continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. A westerly wave is expected to affect upper/central parts of the country during next 24 hours and likely to persist till Saturday.

Mainly cold weather with partly cloudy conditions is expected in north Baluchistan and upper parts of the country.

Light rain-thunderstorm with snow over the hills is expected at isolated places in Malakand division, upper FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Friday.

Cloudy weather conditions with chances of light rain-thunderstorm and snow over the hills is expected at scattered places in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA while at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal divisions and Islamabad on Saturday.

He said that shallow fog is expected to continue in plains of Faisalabad, Lahore, Bahawalpur divisions during morning hours.

He informed that temperature which is persisting around 27 to 28 degree celsius, is also expected to drop by 2 degree celsius after the shower.

Due to stable atmospheric conditions, smoggy conditions are likely to prevail during November and December.

Less than average rainfall is expected in November-December, therefore smog, fog and mist will remain prevalent phenomena and higher concentration of smog is expected in urban areas, he added.

Smog containing the pollutants may cause eye/throat irritations as well as difficulty in breathing. Public may exercise precautionary measures.

In the provincial capital maximum temperature was recorded 27 degree celsius on Thursday.
