ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Dense Fog will engulf plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh at night and morning hours during the next few days which would decrease the visibility level for the travelers especially on Motorway.

The Assistant Meteorologist at Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Ruqqiya Mahmood said that dense foggy conditions usually engulfed the fog-prone areas after the moisture in air due to consistent rain activity and would prevail till the next rain spell.

However, she said the intensity of dense fog would be reduced after two to three days and the travelers were advised to use fog lights due to zero visibility level on M2 (Motorway).

Ruqqiya Mahmood said third rain-spell of this month was likely during the last 10 days which would subside the dense foggy conditions.

Snowfall was also expected at the mountainous areas of the Country during the next two days.

During the next 24 hours, rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills was expected at isolated places in Malakand division, Hazara Division, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Mainly cold and dry weather was expected in most parts of the Country.

The rainfall (mm) recorded during the last 24 hours was Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Kakul 33, Risalpur 25, Malamjabba 20, Dir, Pattan 18, Mirkhani 15, Kalam14, Balakot 10, Drosh 08, Lower Dir, Chitral, Peshawar (Airport 07, City Trace), Saidu Sharif 06, Parachinar, Bannu 01.Punjab: Rawalpindi (Chaklala 21, Shamsabad 15), Islamabad (Saidpur 21, Zero Point 17, Golra, Bokra 13), Murree 16, Kashmir: Muzaffarabad 12, Rawalakot 07, Garidupatta 05, Kotli 02.

The snowfall recorded during the period was Malamjabba 10 inches, Kalam 07, Astore Trace and Murree 01 (foot).
