ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: With abundance of memorable occurrences, the Saudi Crown Prince His Royal Highness Mohammad bin Salman bid adieu to Islamabad on Monday on the accomplishment of his two-day historic visit to Pakistan, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.

His visit can inarguably be deemed as the most unprecedented visit by a foreign dignitary to Pakistan as not merely Saudis inked US $20 billion worth agreements and Memorandums of Understandings (MoUs) including a US $10 billion deal of establishing an oil refinery in Gwadar with Pakistan but also in a prompt and most gracious gesture to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s compassionate request, the Crown Prince ordered the immediate release of 2,107 Pakistanis languishing in Saudi jails.

The Saudi government also allowed Pakistani pilgrims to undergo the immigration process in Pakistan before leaving for Saudi Arabia, fulfilling another request by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“Consider me Pakistan’s ambassador in Saudi Arabia,” His Royal Highness promptly remarked after the prime minister’s requests to him at the reception dinner arranged in his honour at Prime Minister House just after he arrived in Islamabad on Sunday evening.

Both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia also signed a number of agreements and MoUs related to diverse sectors including investment, finance, power, renewable energy, internal security, media, culture and sports.

Earlier the Crown Prince while addressing the reception dinner also said US $20 billion investment by Saudi Arabia in Pakistan just marked the end of the first phase. He said Saudi Arabia would invest further in Pakistan in the future.

“We believe that Pakistan is going to be a very, very important country in the coming future and we want to be sure we are part of that,” the Crown Prince remarked.

“We were waiting for that kind of a leadership to partner with and build a lot of things together,” Mohammad Bin Salman said turning towards Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Separately addressing a Joint News Conference along with his Pakistani Counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Islamabad on Monday, the Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir also said Saudi Arabia wanted to participate in Pakistan’s economic growth and share the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan to take his Country to new heights.

Adel al-Jubeir said their investment in Pakistan was not charity and it was for mutual benefit of both the Countries and their people.

“We want to see Pakistan as an economically stable and viable Country,” Adel al-Jubeir remarked.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman was conferred upon Pakistan’s Highest Civilian Award “Nishan-e-Pakistan” at an Impressive Investiture Ceremony at the President House on Monday following a one-on-one meeting between him and President Dr. Arif Alvi.

The Ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Chairman Senator Sadiq Sanjrani, the Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mehmood Hayat, three Services Chiefs, and Federal Cabinet Members.

Afterwards, a luncheon ceremony was held in honor of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman at the Presidency.

In his remarks at the luncheon, the Crown Prince said it was a very golden era for Pakistan as it was open for investment.

President Dr. Arif Alvi said the visit of His Royal Highness would further strengthen Pakistan-Saudi Arabia friendship. He said Saudi Arabia and Pakistan were best Countries for tourism; Pakistan had many opportunities for tourism.

“I invite Saudi Shah Salman to visit Pakistan; long live Pak-Saudi friendship,” Dr. Arif Alvi said.

The Saudi Crown Prince earlier also held a meeting Prime Minister Imran Khan in which both the leaders vowed for further strengthening of friendship and more economic cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Later the two leaders also co-chaired the inaugural session of the Saudi-Pakistan Supreme Coordination Council (SCC) formed to ensure structured institutionalized mechanism with regard to the implementation of MoUs.

The Crown Prince also met the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and discussed the ongoing cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the fields of defense.

In addition, he also held a meeting with a Pakistani Parliamentary delegation and discussed issues pertaining to the promotion of bilateral parliamentary contacts between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

On his sidelines of Crown Prince’s visit, various meetings between the visiting Saudi dignitaries and Pakistani ministers also took place.

The Chairman of the Saudi Company ACWA Power International Mohammad A. Abunayyan met Pakistani Finance Minister Asad Umar, and expressed his Company’s willingness to invest around US $4 billion in Pakistan’s renewable energy sector.

The Saudi Minister for Energy, Industries and Mineral Resources Khalid Al-Falih along with his delegation also met Asad Umar in Islamabad.

Likewise, the Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan met the Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry, and reviewed relations between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia especially on cultural issues.

Earlier on Sunday evening, as Saudi Arabia’s Royal Aircraft carrying the Crown Prince entered Pakistan’s airspace, Pakistani fighter jets escorted that to Noor Khan Air Base wherein the esteemed guest was accorded a red-carpet welcome with 21-gun salute.

The Saudi Crown Prince was received by Prime Minister Imran Khan, his Cabinet Members and the COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Later Imran Khan himself drove the Saudi Crown Prince to the Prime Minister House.

Mushaal Malik seeks global community intervention to end Indian oppression in IIOJK ISLAMABAD: Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife of an unlawfully incarcerated senior Hurriyat Leader Mohammad Yasin Malik, stated that the supremacist Indian occupation authorities had been committing war crimes and violating international human rights with impunity in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) since October 27, 1947 to perpetuate its illegitimate occupation on Kashmir. Speaking at a Kashmir solidarity rally taken out in Islamabad to mark Kashmir Black Day, she said that the people of Kashmir had been enduring the tyrannies of Hindutva regime during the past 77 years but these oppressions and coercive tactics could not dampen their courage. Mushaal, who is also the Chairperson of Peace and Culture Organisation, expressed serious concerns about safety and wellbeing of her jailed husband because the Indian notorious government was hell-bent to silence to most powerful voice of Kashmiri freedom struggle in a fake, fabricated and absurd case. She highlighted that the occupation authorities converted the scenic valley into a garrison city and a killing field, as even Kashmiri children could not go to school right now because parents were imprisoned for their crimes to raise voice of their right to self-determination. However, the Hurriyat leader stated that despite all these hardship and reign of terror unleashed by the brutal forces, Kashmiris remained steadfast struggling for seven decades to break the shackles of Indian slavery. Mushaal went on to say that when the people stand together, freedom can be achieved, with the people's voice, even the mightiest of tyrants can be defeated. The Hurriyat leader stated that people in the occupied valley were not even safe inside their own homes, as bodies of their leaders and loved ones were not returned to them. She highlighted the ordeal faced by Kashmiri leaders, saying Asiya Andrabi held in Tihar Jail, whose health deteriorated alarmingly in jail. She emphasized the importance of remembering this day annually, saying, “Every Pakistani stands in solidarity on this day.” Mushaal encouraged young Pakistanis to launch campaigns through social media, highlighting that Pakistan’s founding leader, Quaid-e-Azam, also placed trust in the power of youth. “You can become our powerful voice today,” she stated, urging them to remain steadfast for Kashmir. Mushaal recalled that India had resettled millions of Indian nationals in the region unlawfully to alter its demographic makeup, aiming to turn it into what she termed a mini-India. She called upon the international community to hold India accountable for its excesses in IIOJK and to support the Kashmiri people's struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination. Mushaal vowed that the people of Kashmir have endured decades of oppression, but their resolve remains unbroken. However, she urged the international community and human rights organizations to shun the double-standard and take note of Indian worst human rights violations so as to resolve the Kashmir dispute once for all in accordance to the aspirations of the people of Kashmir.
