LAHORE, Pakistan: Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast mainly cold and dry weather in most parts of the country but cold wave conditions would continue during next three to four 4 days.

According to Met office, wet spell of rain/snowfall over upper parts of the country has subsided. Due to recent heavy snowfall over the hills of northern areas, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Galliyat and Kashmir, cold wave has grip most parts of the country.

The night temperature in most parts of the northern areas, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Kashmir and north Balochistan have fallen below zero point.

The current cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in most parts of the country during next 3-4 days. The night temperature in most parts of the country including Punjab may further fall to 04øC.

Some of the plain areas of KP and Punjab may experience frost during the period.

Lowest minimum temperature recorded on Sunday; Skardu -12øC, Quetta -10øC, Kalat -09 øC, Kalam -08øC, Dalbandin, Gupis -06øC, Parachinar, Astore -05øC, Malamjabba, Hunza, Murree, Rawalakot -04øC, Bagrote, Dir -03 øC, Gilgit, Kakul, Drosh -02øC, Zhob -01øC, Risalpur, Chitral 00øC.

In the provincial capital minimum temperature was recorded 6.5 degree celsius on Monday.

“Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country including the city. Foggy conditions are likely to continue over plain areas of KPK, Punjab and Sindh during night and morning hours”, daily weather report said.
