RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Another 13 hardcore terrorists including those who planned and executed attacks on Marriot Hotel Islamabad and Bacha Khan University Charsada are set to be hanged as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) on Friday confirmed their death sentences.

In a press release, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that convicts were involved in heinous offences related to terrorism including killing and slaughtering of innocent civilians, officials of Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and Armed Forces of Pakistan.

Besides culprits behind Marriot Hotel Islamabad and Bacha Khan University Charsada attacks, the convicted terrorists also included who were involved in attacks on Parade Lane Mosque Rawalpindi, Office of World Vision NGO at Mansehra and educational institution at Nawagai Buner.

On the whole, they were involved in killing 325 persons and in causing injuries to 366 others. Fire-arms and explosives were also recovered from their possession.

These convicts were tried by military courts, and their details are as follows;

Latif Ullah Mehsud S/O Ramzan.

The convict was a member of proscribed organization. He was involved in killing of innocent civilians and attacking LEAs of Pakistan which resulted in death of 150 civilians (members and attendees of local Jirga) and seven soldiers of Frontier Constabulary (FC).

The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court.

Arafat S/O Gul Zarin.

The convict was a member of proscribed organization. He was involved in attacking Marriot Hotel Islamabad and Parade Lane Mosque Rawalpindi which resulted in death of 110 persons and injuries to 330 others.

The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court.

Wahid Ali S/O Abdul Ali, Akbar Ali S/O Kareem Ullah, Muhammad Riaz S/O Muhammad Diyar Khan and Noor Ullah S/O Muhammad Diyar Khan.

These four convicts were members of proscribed organization. They were involved in attacking Bacha Khan University Charsada which resulted in death of 17 civilians and injuries to 19 others. They were also found in possession of fire arms and explosives.

These convicts admitted their offences before the Magistrate and the trial court.

Abdul Rehman S/O Abdul Majeed.

The convict was a member of proscribed organization. He was involved in attacking Armed Forces and LEAs of Pakistan. He was also involved in slaughtering Capt Najam Riaz Raja, Captain Juniad Khan, Naik Shahid Rasool, Lance Naik Shakeel Ahmed and in injuring two police officials. He was involved in destruction of an education institution as well.

The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court.

Mian Said Raheem S/O Mian Aqal Jan.

The convict was a member of proscribed organization. He was involved in killing of 15 civilians including members of local Jirga and civilian Imran who was slaughtered by another terrorist with his assistance. He was also found in possession of fire arms.

The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court.

Noor Muhammad S/O Shah Wali.

The convict was a member of proscribed organization. He was involved in attacking Armed Forces and LEAs of Pakistan which resulted in death of Naik Nadeem Yousaf and injuries to seven soldiers of FC. He was also involved in abduction of civilian Dr Syed Jamshed Haider for ransom.

The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court.

Sher Ali S/O Mambar.

The convict was a member of proscribed organization. He was involved in attacking Armed Forces and LEAs of Pakistan which resulted in death of Naib Subedar Abdul Khaliq, Naik Qaiser Khan, Sepoy Mohsin Khan, Sepoy Imran Khan, Sepoy Sarfraz Ahmed, Sepoy Muhammad Ali, Sepoy Sajid Khan and injuries to five soldiers. The convict also abetted other terrorists in killing of civilians Muhammad Afzal Khan, Shah Dawran and Aman Ullah. He was also found in possession of fire arms.

The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court.

Syed Qasim Shah S/O Syed Amin Shah.

The convict was a member of proscribed organization. He was involved in attacking Office of World Vision NGO which resulted in death of six employees of said NGO. He was also found in possession of explosives.

Muhammad Usman S/O Khair Ali Khan.

The convict was a member of proscribed organization. He was involved in killing of civilians Abdul Rehman, Jamshed, Mst Naheed Bibi and Mst Nasreen Bibi. He was also found in possession of fire arms and explosives.

The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court. He was awarded death sentence.

Muhammad Waqar Faisal S/O Ghulam Sadiq.

The convict was a member of proscribed organization. He was involved in killing of police constable Asad Abbas and in injuring a police constable and two civilians.
