RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday conferred military awards to army personnel for acts of gallantry during operations.
The awards were conferred in an investiture ceremony held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.
The ISPR said that a large number of military officials and relatives of Shuhuda and Ghazis attended the ceremony.
The ISPR said that 33 officers were awarded SITARA-I-IMTIAZ (MILITARY), 1 officer was awarded TAMGHA-E-JURAT, and 35 officers and soldiers were awarded TAMGHA-E-BISALAT. Medals of Shuhuda were received by their family members.
While paying rich tribute to Shaheeds and Ghazis, the COAS said that we owe peace and stability to the selfless devotion and sacrifices of these officers and soldiers who are our real heroes.
