ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar has taken notice of an attack on senior journalist Asad Kharal on Tuesday night in Lahore, when he was coming out of the Allama Iqbal International Airport.
Taking notice of the issue, the Chief Justice has called report from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab within 24 hours.
The Bol TV anchor Asad Kharal was intercepted by masked men in Lahore and physically assaulted. Asad Kharal was then taken to Services Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Meanwhile, the Caretaker Information Minister Syed Ali Zafar condemned attack on journalist Asad Kharal.
In a statement, he said that freedom of expression is a basic Constitutional right, and its protection is a constitutional responsibility.
The minister directed the authorities concerned to perform their constitutional responsibilities in this regard. He also prayed for early recovery of Asad Kharal.
