PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Friday directed for closure of all clinics being run by quacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa within a week.

The Chief Minister issued the directive while hearing a case regarding quacks at the Supreme Court Registry in Peshawar.

During the course of hearing conducted by a three-member bench of the Supreme Court, Justice Saqib Nisar was informed by the Chairman Healthcare Commission that there are 15,000 quacks in the province and action has been taken against 122 quacks so far.

Meanwhile presenting a report to the Chief Justice about withdrawal of security from unentitled persons, the Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Salahuddin Mehsud said that 1769 security guards and gunmen have been recalled.

The Chief Justice lauded the performance of IG Khyber Police, saying that the Court was satisfied with his performance.

Separately during the hearing of clean drinking water case at the Supreme Court Registry in Peshawar, the Chief Justice ordered concerned authorities to conduct laboratory test of water.

The Chief Justice said that water samples should be tested in Punjab as there is no laboratory nor standard machine.
