ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Centre for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS) – a nonprofit institution – and Embassy or Republic of Tajikistan, Islamabad will organize a Conference on “Pakistan-Tajikistan: Exploring New Dimensions of bilateral Cooperation” in Islamabad on April 9.

In the Conference following the recitation of Holy Quran, the Chairman CGSS Lt General (retd) Muhammad Zahir Ul Islam will make the Opening Remarks.

The Head of the Department of Analysis and Foreign Police Perspectives (Vision) of the Center for Strategic Researchers under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Dr. Hakim Abdullohi Rahnamo, will speak on “Tajikistan’s Foreign Policy and Relations with regional Countries” while the former Federal Secretary of Information, Government of Pakistan, Ashfaq Ahmed Gondal, will speak on “Pakistan-Tajikistan Media Cooperation”.

The Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Abdurahmonov Marufjon, will shed lights on “25 Years of Tajikistan-Pakistan Diplomatic Relations”.

Likewise, the Head of the Department on Social Sciences Problem Studies of the Center for Strategic Research under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Dr. Kurbonov Abdurahmon Sherovich, will speak on “Historical and Cultural Ties between Tajikistan and Pakistan”.

The Deputy Director of the Institute of Economy and Demography of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan, Dr. Mirsaidov Abror, will cover the topic “Future of Economic/Trade Relationship between Tajikistan and Pakistan”.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sherali Jonovov, will deliver his speech on “CASA – 1000 and Perspective of the Cooperation of Tajikistan and Pakistan in the Field and Energy” while the Head of Islamic Banking SILKBANK, Jawad Majid, will speak on “Prospects of Socio-Economic Relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan”.

On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy King of Kingdom of Bahrain, conferred Bahrain Medal - First Class upon Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force at Sakhir Air Base, Bahrain. Chief of the Air Staff expressed his gratitude for the honour of receiving the Bahrain Medal - First Class. On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
