KARACHI, Pakistan: The Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday expressed heartfelt grief and sorrow over the sad demise of PPP member of the National Assembly Muhammad Ayaz Soomro.

The 59-year-old Ayaz Soomro had passed away in the early hours on Tuesday at a hospital in Manhattan, New York after protracted illness.

In his condolence message, the PPP Chairman eulogized the services and sacrifices of late Ayaz Soomro for the Party and his lifelong commitment and loyalty to the cause.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and fortitude to the members of bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity.

Ayaz Soomro was elected as the lawmaker in the Lower House in 2013 from NA-204 (Larkana-I). Previously he had also been a member of the Sindh Assembly from 2002 to 2007 and again from 2008 to 2013.

Born on December 31, 1958 in Larkana, Ayaz Soomro received the degree of Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws and Master of Arts, all from the University of Sindh.

Separately, the National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and the acting Speaker National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi also expressed their profound grief over the demise of Muhammad Ayaz Soomro.

In their separate condolence messages to bereaved family, the Speaker and the Acting Speaker expressed their grief and sorrow over the demise of Ayaz Soomro.

Paying rich tributes to the services of Ayaz Soomro, the Speaker and the Acting Speaker said that he was a politician of high repute, who has rendered valuable contributions in legislative business during his tenure as Member of the National Assembly and worked for the betterment of marginalized segments of the society.

“His services will be remembered for a long time to come, “they said.

They prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to members of the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with equanimity.
