ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As next general elections are around the corner, one gets hope that somewhat promises made by his/her representative in the government fours year ago are set to be accomplished, a harsh reality having become fate of this nation.

“I have no hope from the incumbent government,” said enraged Junaid Khan, in his late 20s, when asked to approach local government representatives of his UC-4 (Bhara Kahu) over his complains about ruined roads.

Densely-populated Bhara Kahu is lying on the outskirts of Islamabad, and comprised on several roads of varying size with Simli Dam road and Kiyani road among the famous ones. But both the roads have now reduced to holes and water pools while the filthy water remains stagnant on the roads for weeks.

Regrettably, the Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Tariq Fazal Chaudhry was elected as member of National Assembly in 2013 from NA-49 Constituency under whose jurisdiction Bhara Kahu also falls.

But despite the above mentioned fact, Bhara Kahu remains neglected especially in terms of dilapidated condition of roads and traffic issues.

“It’s been a disappointing performance of Tariq Fazal Chaudhry”, said 26-year-old Rehman Abbas Jadoon, saying we had voted him but he overlooked even his own Constituency especially Bhara Kahu.

Sawera Bibi, a mother of four, lamented that she secured over 750 votes in the run for Woman Councilor from UC-4 in last local government elections but yet lost to a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-backed Candidate.

Sawera Bibi said it was even more disappointing that who had won the elections, failed to deliver. She expressed the hope that she would emerge as victorious in next polls, and serve her locality with a true spirit.
