ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The TV analyst and the former Member Estate Capital Development Authority (CDA) Brigadier (retd) Asad Munir has been found dead at his apartment in Islamabad.

Police sources said that Asad Munir committed a suicide. They said that his dead body hanging with fan was found from his flat located at the Diplomatic Enclave.

The deceased also served as the Director Military Intelligence Agency Peshawar.

His dead body has been shifted to the PIMS Hospital. His funeral will be held at H-8 graveyard at 5:00 pm today.

It is worth noting that in its Executive Board Meeting held in Islamabad on Thursday, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had decided to file a reference against Asad Munir along with the former top Officials of CDA for allegedly abusing their powers to restore a plot in F-11 Sector Islamabad while violating rules and regulations.

The sources said that Asad Munir was very upset with the news about the NAB reference against him, and he committed the suicide in protest against the harassment by the accountability watchdog.
