ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Islamabad administration has taken further steps in the wake of impending Coronavirus alert, and directed the closure of all shrines, gyms, training camps, swimming pools and playing areas for kids in the Federal Capital for next three weeks.

In this regard, the District Magistrate Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) has issued a notification on Tuesday.

As per the notification, the following areas will remain closed for the next three weeks;

  • All Shrines (Darbars and Dargahs)
  • All gyms, physical training camps, and swimming pools
  • All playing areas for kids

The ICT administration had already issued directives to shut all Educational Institutions of any kind, Day Care Centers, Cinema Halls, and Marriage & Banquet Halls in the Federal Capital for the next three weeks as per the notification issued on March 14.

Besides all Religious Congregation & Ceremonies, Sports Festivals, Seminars, Conferences, Cultural Events, etc were also banned while Examinations were postponed and all the Hostels were evacuated.

The measures have been taken when the Country is battling with the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Coronavirus outbreak has already infected 236 persons across the Country. So far 172 persons have been tested positive for the virus in Sindh, 26 in Punjab, 16 in Balochistan, 15 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 2 in the ICT.
