DAKAR, Senegal: To celebrate the 78th National Day of Pakistan, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Dakar, the Capital of Senegal.

Pakistan’s ambassador to Senegal Muhammad Imran Mirza hoisted the national flag along with the National Anthem.

The messages of President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi were also read out in the ceremony.

In their message, the president and the prime minister said that Pakistan came into being through a long democratic struggle and that the key to its stability and development also lies in democracy. They also expressed that the spirit of tolerance and patience were the fundamentals of democracy.

Both the leaders reiterated their resolve to ensure freedom, equality and social justice for every citizen of Pakistan as envisaged by Quaid-e-Azam.

The ambassador acknowledged the importance of Pakistani diaspora towards progress and development of Pakistan and urged them to unite and come forward for nation building.

Pakistani Community residing in Senegal and six other Countries of accreditation attended the ceremony.
