Islamabad, Pakistan: The Federal Cabinet of Pakistan has given approval to Ministry of Oil and Gas to initiate an agreement with Russian government for the construction of 600MW Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant at Jamshoro in province of Sindh.

The approval came a day before the expected visit of Chief of Pakistan Armed forces COAS Gen Qamar Bajwa to Russia.

Jamshoro Power Company Limited (GENCO-I) is owned by Federal Government of Pakistan. Proposed site for 600MW Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant is situated in District of Jamshoro (Sindh) five Km North-West of the village of Jamshoro on Indus High-way at the right bank of River Indus. Nearest town is Mohra Jabal which is 18 Km from Hyderabad city. The city of Karachi is approximately 150 Km South-West of Jamshoro connected with Super-Highway.

Bidding of the 600MW Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant was finalized in December 2016.
